The "High Country 3 day" Tour

Not usually known for our high country tours, Otway Off-Road have put together a ripper 3 day epic ride in the Victorian alpine country with our new "High Country 3 Day" tour. Con has spent many years trail riding  in the Vic high country and has organized many 2 and 3 day trail rides, Con knows all the best trails that would challenge the best of off-road riders. This awesome 3 day trail tour transverses some of the best  riding round Mt Buller, Woods Point,  Jamieson and the majestic Eildon National Park and challenging Goughs Bay trails. Cons local knowledge allows the groups to cross the bikes over Lake Eildon and ride the wicked trails around Goughs Bay ! Check out the pictures below. 

The tour starts on Friday night (pre-ride) with great accommodation at Eildon Town. There's a meet and greet at the Golden Trout Pub with plenty of bench racing and anticipation of what's to come. The tour officially starts on Saturday morning from 7:30am with cooked bacon and egg breaky followed by riders briefing/sign in ect. We ride through the Eildon National Park heading for Woods Point  for lunch. After lunch in back into it with plenty of challenging trails/hills climbs and awesome scenic views like you've never seen (you may even ride some snow!)! It truly is magnificent!. After a big first day on the trails its time for a bit of bike maintenance and well earned drink and rest at the Jamieson Hotel.

Day 2 the ride heads up the Mitchells Tk to the slate mine while you gather and take in the breathtaking views! Its off again down to the Howqua valley via the challenging 3 chain track and onto the Merrijig pub for lunch. After our ripper meal its off again on our journey east around the back of Mt Stirling and up to "The Man from Snowy Rivers" Craigs Hut. The riding here is rocky, steep and rough with awe inspiring views all along the ride up to Victoria`s most famous ski resort, Mt Buller. Our overnight accommodation is provided by the folks at the Alberg hotel.

Wake up on Day 3 on Mt Buller, enjoy the cooked breakfast and awesome views before departing  for another great day in the high country. This time its straight down the mountain and into the bush as we head for the wickedly tough Goughs Bay and the Pines. The tour gets hardcore with plenty of hill climbs, mega downhill's and challenging riding around every corner!, There`s plenty of chances for a rest if you`ve made it to the top, and don`t forget to check out the magnificent views of Lake Eildon! Its a great day on the trailbike and you'll be looking for a rest by the end of the day, believe me!

 Last but certainly not least its drinks at the waters edge while all bikes and bodies are transported over by water taxi to the Eildon side of the lake. Arrival time back at is around 4 PM. 

After the tour a Otway Off-Road DVD follows to once again enjoy the experience with family and friends.

Total km over the 3 days Approx 450-550km. 

What to bring:

• Your weapon of choice with a full tank, standard muffler or quiet aftermarket exhaust
• Some 2 Stroke oil for those who have one.
• Motorcycle license.
• Full registration plate and sticker
• New tyres ( especially if its wet )
• Riding gear including Motorcycle boots, helmet, goggles, gloves, bum bag with tools for your bike, camelback, warm jackets.
• Some drinking money for the pub!

Main Package includes:

• 3 day guided tour
• All fuel (after 1st tank )
• All meals from Saturday morning to Sunday lunch.
• 3 nights accomodation, 1 night in 3-4 star fully self contains cabins with, TV, DVDs, air conditioning, balcony, park swimming pool!
• Sweep riders and 4WD back-up support  with radio communication between guides, support and sweep riders.
• DVD footage and pics taken and compiled later to DVD..
